Discord has closed an incident involving problems establishing voice calls. Its official status record marked the issue resolved at 21:43 UTC on October 31, or 00:43 on November 1 in Turkey. The service's status page showed all systems operational when checked on November 2.

The incident timeline begins at 15:26 UTC on October 31. Discord posted that a fix was in place at 19:40 UTC and monitored it before closing the incident. That puts six hours and 17 minutes between the first public investigation notice and resolution; it does not measure how long every user was unable to call.

A call-connection incident has a narrower scope than a platform shutdown

Discord's short notices do not identify a cause, affected-user count or regional breakdown. They also do not say that text messaging failed. The reported problem was establishing voice calls, so describing it as a confirmed failure of every Discord function would go beyond the record.

The distinction matters for internet voice services: reaching an app and successfully establishing an audio session are separate observations. An operational status page today also does not invalidate the earlier incident.

If a connection error remains after resolution

Discord's voice-connection guide distinguishes local connection problems from its own server-side errors. It names “Waiting for Voice Server” as a reason to check the service status, and advises contacting support when the status has been checked but the problem persists. That is a documented troubleshooting route, not proof of the cause of this incident.

Past disruptions need their own evidence. Our report on X outages concerned a different service and incident. The AO3 security report concerned account security rather than voice connectivity. Neither supplies a cause for Discord's now-resolved call problem.
