YouTube is rolling out custom feeds that viewers can describe in their own words, alongside a mobile navigation change that moves Subscriptions to the top of Home. TeamYouTube announced the rollout on October 22. The new Subs position keeps followed creators available, but changes where regular viewers will look for them.

Custom feeds were previewed at Made on YouTube in September. The new rollout notice supplies the practical limits: English, U.S.-based signed-in viewers aged 13 or older, with search history enabled. Mobile and desktop are named; a global launch date is not.
Three saved feeds without Premium, eight with it
A viewer starts with the plus button at the top of Home, describes an interest, and can later revise the prompt. Free accounts can keep three active custom feeds, while Premium accounts can keep eight. Feeds created on mobile sync to desktop when the same Google account is signed in.
The distinction is useful when sharing instructions with someone else. A missing plus button does not, on its own, establish a broken app: the person's region, language, account eligibility or rollout stage may differ. Nor does moving Subs mean that the subscriptions themselves have been deleted.
Discovery controls are not creator controls
The new top bar also includes Live and Music. Movies & TV appears for viewers with active paid content, such as Primetime Channel subscriptions. 9to5Google's report illustrates the move away from the old bottom-bar Subscriptions position.
For a creator, these changes concern how viewers find videos. They do not replace recommendation system can respond to a viewer's request without giving a publisher a guaranteed place in the resulting feed.
